Does she ever even look?

Behold, compulsion, addiction,
more dangerous than it seems.

I ignore a clear and present danger
to my well-being. If this threat emanated from
some known oppressor, I would see it coming.

But this danger is seductive,
an amusement, a diversion, an indulgence

I get control of myself.
This temptation has me rooting like a hog.

Only self-discipline can steer me
off this road to disaster.
