how navigate emotions?
which road to take?
where do I start?
would she still love me?
what am I not seeing?
am I getting closer?
throws & parallels
how lightly live our rhyme?
K'uei / Estrangement
Fire distances itself from its nemesis, the Lake:
no matter how large or diverse the group,
I remain uniquely myself.
Small accomplishments are possible.
I work at cross-purposes with another.
The distance between us is very wide.
The gap can be closed, however,
with no compromise of our integrity.
We are not adversaries in this case --
just two persons addressing individual needs.
Are these needs mutually exclusive?
Is there common ground here?
Must there be one winner and one loser?
Could we become partners in seeking
a solution that allows for two winners?
I don't search after the horses I've lost;
they will return in seven days.
I acknowledge the presence of evil people:
I keep a close eye on them,
but am not baited into dealing with them.
The End in Sight
Fire ascends above the Water:
I examine the nature of things
and keep each in its proper place.
Too anxious the young fox gets his tail wet,
just as he completes his crossing.
To attain success, I am like the man,
not like the fox.
We resist the rush to completion.
Anticipation of fulfillment may cause
us to be careless before we
have fully absorbed the lessons of the journey.
The endpoint of this Quest
will only prove to be the threshold for another.
We are short steps from Mastery
on this plane, yet we stride toward Ignorance
of the challenges lying beyond.
We savor this accomplishment.
We take full possession of our world
before embarking to discover the next one.
This voyage begins soon enough,
and we will reminisce about this one.
These are the Good Old Days.
